Every year it happens the same way.
The calendar flips to January and suddenly the world starts shouting.
New goals. New habits. New you. Faster. Better. More.
Reset your life.
Declutter everything.
Launch the thing.
Fix yourself.
Start now.
And if you’re anything like me, it can feel like you’re already behind before you’ve even finished your coffee.
But this winter, more than EVER, I have felt this quiet resistance rise up in my spirit.
Not laziness.
Not lack of ambition.
Just this gentle whisper:
Slow down.
Because outside my window, nothing else is rushing.
The trees aren’t producing fruit.
The garden beds aren’t blooming.
The soil isn’t striving.
Everything is resting.
And maybe we’re meant to, too…I think thats the whole point anyway.. A slow, steady, grounded faith and hope in what’s to come. Being a watchful villager in the work God is wanting to do in our hearts and homes. For me, that’s the gift you just can’t add to cart, but instead it’s the gift you must store deep down in your soul.
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
A few things I’m looking forward to this season…
- Intentional slower moments where gratitude is second nature.
- Cozy evenings with candles lit, good food simmering, and the sound of the boys giggling.
- Finding rhythms that help our home feel peaceful, not rushed.
- Leaning into intentionality, using what I have, loving who’s in front of me, savoring small moments.
- Making memories that don’t need perfection to be beautiful.
- Fresh starts in quiet corners of our home, a project here, a refresh there.
- More time outside bundled up, watching the world settle into winter.
- Growing deeper roots in faith, routine, and rest.
- Practicing gratitude in the middle of the ordinary, unshared, not just the highlighted moments.
- Remembering that everyday is a gift.
1. things I’m loving, wanting or eager to try
Love… this perspective! “Everyone you meet is carrying something you don’t see”
Eager to try… a few of these fun Valentine’s crafts with my littles.. maybe you can get some inspo too!
Want… this color palette as my vision for our garden area!
Love… these nightstands way more than I can describe.. WOW!

👆🏽 I need to figure out better onion and potato storage in our pantry. I would love to find some cutie baskets to hang on the wall but I love the option of these open containers that I could clean easily!! They could be used for multiple other pantry items too!
👆🏽 My skin continues to make changes in my 40’s but even more so in the winter, I get terribly dry skin. This body oil is not greasy, it soaks in fast and it leaves my skin incredibly supple and tight. A must have skin routine staple!
2.leaning into hibernation: for my homebodies @ heart
There’s something sacred about slowing down, softening our pace, and finding joy in the spaces we call home. And honestly? Of all the gift guides I put together during the year, the homebody one feels most like me: the ultimate homebody guide to all things cozy and peaceful.
Specifically for the ones who love quiet mornings, warm blankets, soft lights, good books, baking, gardening and creating comfort and joy right where they are… especially during this much needed wintering season!
For the ones who feel most themselves at home, the very place where our souls can take a much needed deep breath.
Disclaimer: Many of these items I have thoughtfully found second hand but I know that can be hard and time consuming for many so this list is curated from what I have, what I have found and what I have personally. For the Homebody in us all.. shop below 👇
