There’s something quietly beautiful I’ve learned about sourdough. It’s slow, it’s intentional, and it asks you to show up daily, sometimes without immediate results. That’s exactly why I’m starting a new series called The Daily Rise. This has been on my heart since I made my first loaf.. might I add, said loaf was NOT successful nor was it edible. And I think that is why I knew I wanted to make this series in that very moment.
Over the next several days and weeks over at The Fisher House YouTube channel, I’ll be sharing daily videos walking you through how to start a sourdough starter completely from scratch.
No shortcuts.
No perfection.
Just the simple, steady process of feeding, waiting, learning, and watching something come alive over time.

This series is meant to feel approachable and encouraging, whether you’ve tried sourdough before and felt intimidated, or you’re starting from day one with a jar, flour, and curiosity. I’ll be sharing what I’m learning in real time, the small wins, the mistakes, and the rhythm of daily care that sourdough requires.
But also just a reminder, IT’S not that serious. It’s bread and this should be a hobby and a gift you get to give yourself however often you desire. That’s the best thing about sourdough, its always on YOUR time. You get to decide how little or how much you will show up!
A much more in-depth, step-by-step blog post is coming soon, where I’ll break everything down in detail and give you a complete guide you can follow at your own pace. For now, consider this your invitation to slow down, tune in, and rise with me… one day at a time.
