The Good Guide: Friday Five

I couldn’t be more excited to see this Good Guide Friday, because that means it is one day closer for us leaving for the beach. This week took it out of me, between the multiple doctor’s appointments for Bo and me, and just home life with babies, it has been hard. I worked countless 13+ hour shifts in one of the busiest level one trauma center ER’s as an RN, but being a SAHM is by far the hardest job I’ve ever had. Much more rewarding, but much harder as well. So my heart and mind need this reset time away!! My parents are going with us and we couldn’t be happier to have this precious time together. I keep reminding my hubby that one day we will live at the beach and we won’t have to “travel” anymore… what a dream right?? 😉 The pictures below are from 3 years ago this month and we are planning to do some more pictures with sweet Bo on the beach and I am sooo excited. We haven’t had any family photos done with our Bo yet so this will be special. 😊

Something else on my mind.. The Fireplace Makeover! If I am honest, this fireplace has made me question my design more than any other space. Sounds crazy I’m sure, but I’m even doubting my choice of black for the mantel now 😳 Maybe it’s because my mind is so full of life things right now and I haven’t had time to trust the process and even my own choices. So with all that said, I am going to keep the mantel black for now. I kept the upper portion, SW Alabaster, the same as all the other white walls in our home. The piece of crown that I added across the top made such a beautiful focal point and visual interest, it ended up being EXACTLY what I was envisioning. But ONE thing I do know is this… it is okay to not be 100% with a project, even after spending so much time on it. We have to normalize trying things, having the courage to step out and after it’s all said and done if it isn’t what we think, it’s okay to change it or pivot. Having the courage to try is one of my biggest growths these past couple of years.. and more often than not, it gives me the courage to step out even further and try even more new things. I feel like it honestly just opens up your mind to a better expression of who you are and that is such a beautiful place to be… FULLY & unapologetically who you were made to be!

👆🏽 I literally just ordered these DIMMABLE nightlights on Tuesday and I never thought I would be so obsessed with a nightlight like I am now. These will be shared A LOT 🤪

It’s no surprise how much I adore this featured couple this week. Three words that come to mind when I think of them: Creative, Genuine, Kind & SOOOOOO Talented…. okay okay, that was 4! But talented is who they are. From the mad skills on videography (check out there YouTube here) to there ingenious dupes, tutorials and wood working skills (check out there IG here), to there constant kindness in DM’s, Emily & Lucas will turn into your instant friends. I stumbled upon there account last year, & it was like Emily and I had known each other our whole life. From her constant encouragement during some of the most trying seasons of my life to her daily interaction and support with my own content, I truly love and respect everything they represent and present.
